LoboHost (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at lobohost.com and provides managed hosting, SSL & security, web hosting, and domain registration services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or submit personal information to us.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Contact form submissions. When you fill out our inquiry form, we collect your name, email address, company or website name, and the message you provide. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
- Server and access logs. Our web server automatically records standard log data when you visit the site, including your IP address, browser type and version, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and diagnosing technical issues.
- Billing and account data. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. When you provide payment card details, that information is submitted directly to Stripe and is never transmitted to or stored on LoboHost servers. We receive only non-sensitive billing metadata (last four digits, card brand, expiry, billing address) for display in invoices and account records. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.
- Service-related communication. Emails and messages exchanged with us in connection with your service are retained as part of your account record.
We do not purchase or obtain personal data from third-party data brokers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to inquiries and provide requested services.
- To manage your hosting account, process invoices, and communicate about service changes.
- To monitor and maintain the security of our infrastructure and website.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as retaining billing records as required by applicable law.
- To improve our website and services based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
We do not use your personal information for advertising, behavioral tracking, or sale to third parties.
3. Data Retention
- Inquiry form data: Retained for up to 24 months after last contact, or until you request deletion.
- Server access logs: Retained for 90 days for security purposes, then deleted.
- Billing records: Retained for as long as required by applicable law (typically 5–7 years for financial records).
- Active account data: Retained for the duration of the service relationship and up to 90 days after termination, unless a longer period is required by law or requested by you.
4. Cookies
Our main website (lobohost.com) does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking scripts. We do not use tools like Google Analytics.
Signing in to the client portal uses a short-lived link sent to your email rather than a stored password. The billing portal itself is hosted by our payment processor (Stripe), which may set cookies strictly necessary to keep that session secure. These cookies are not used for tracking.
5. Third-Party Services and Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Stripe (payment processing). We use Stripe, Inc. to process payments. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment card data and operates under its own Privacy Policy. We share only the information necessary for Stripe to process transactions and prevent fraud (e.g., billing address, email).
- Infrastructure providers. We work with data center operators and network providers necessary to deliver hosting services. These providers are contractually restricted from using your data for any purpose other than providing those services.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. If LoboHost is acquired or merged with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a notice on our website before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:
- Access. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion. You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Data portability. Where technically feasible, you may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection and restriction. You may object to certain processing activities or request that we restrict how we use your data.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the above rights are provided under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know about the categories of personal information collected and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify active clients by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
